The Charger chorus program has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Our chorus has many opportunities to create memories that last a lifetime. All classes study and practice the fundamentals of theory, sight-singing, vocal technique, and the importance of ensemble work. Students work together, sing together, play together, and become a family!
Beginning Chorus: This choir is for 6th grade boys and girls who enjoy singing. This group performs several times throughout the year in school and out of school. At the end of the 6th grade year, boys and girls will be encouraged to audition for the Legacy Show Choir.
Intermediate Chorus: This choir is for 7th grade girls. Students can be in this class whether or not they took chorus in 6th grade. Seventh grade students are eligible to audition for all-county chorus and all-district chorus. At the end of the 7th grade year, the girls will be encouraged to audition for the Legacy Show Choir.
8th Grade Girls Chorus: This choir is for 8th grade girls. Students can be in this class whether or not they took chorus in 6th or 7th grade. Eighth grade students are eligible to audition for all-county chorus, all-district chorus, and show choir. This group performs alone and combines with the boys chorus to make the mixed choir.
Boys Chorus: This choir is for 7th and 8th grade boys, whether or not they took chorus in 6th or 7th grade. This group is eligible to audition for all-county chorus, all-district chorus, and show choir. The boys chorus performs alone and with the 8th grade girls chorus.
Show Choir: Legacy: Show choir is a club that meets every day during FLEX/homebase. All rising 7th and 8th grade students who are enrolled in a chorus class are eligible to audition. In show choir, students sing and dance. They perform at our concerts as well as various other outside performances. Auditions are required and take place at the end of the prior school year.
